Structures II
Structures II
Structures II is an exhibition of sculptures that explore an ongoing material and process enquiry. The scale and complexity of the forms has evolved over time. Different clay bodies and specially formulated glazes have been utilised in their creation. A range of construction techniques have been explored. This unfettered process of working and experimenting with clay is a true an exploration of creating - making, material enquiry, process and the transformative act of firing.
The works have an undeniable connection to history, architecture and the built environment. The unplanned, direct engagement with both the material and the process of creating connects the artwork to a specific place and time and gives the sculptures an immediate quality.
